This thread discusses the Content article: Movie Review - I Am Legend

I can swear I have seen a movie very similar to this one. Oh yeah that's it, The Visitor starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. Similar plot, only 2 people are immune to the debilitating effects of an alien plague etc... It'd be nice to see Hollywood coming out with some original content rather than rehashing old plots with 21st century visual effects and cg.

I just watched this last night but I have to say that Mavis is far more generous than I am. I give this only 2.5 stars. Sure, the movie looks great. The post-apocalyptic New York is very realistic and the special effects are quite real.

But my main beef with the movie is the complete irrationality of Will Smith's character. A few things that irked me :

1. The whole premise of how he got caught in the trap was based on his obsession with the dummy and how he thought the dummy was real. Come on .. was that the best they could come up with ? This guy is supposed to be smart.

2. He knows his dog is not immune to the virus and is he's only living companion and yet he allows her to run free ?

3. Having lost the dog, he decides to go on a rampage at night ?

There were just too many holes in the plot. How did the zombies learn how to set the trap ?
