This thread discusses the Content article: Silent Witness TV Review: The Smart Man's CSI

You have to add me to the list of schlock TV viewers as I am partial to the slick criminal procedural shows on US TV like CSI, Without a Trace, Criminal Minds and Bones. I was never able to get into British drama.

That's ok Chris! I kinda like that British drama is a fringe viewing genre! hehe

I guess one of the things that draws me to British drama is the more subtle and believable approach to the themes. It never seems over the top with ridiculously silly computer applications and tech gadgets that you see in the mass market dramas.

If I see one more of these shows that has the main characters using computer systems that look like they have an interface designed by Pixar that allows you to instantly pull up DNA from anyone on the planet and plot the exact location of their moving private vehicle on a highway all on the same screen..bahhhh. hehe.... Call me a party pooper, but when are audiences in 2007 going to wake up?

You mean those interfaces in 24 and CSI are not for real ? No !!!

My favourite British drama is not a drama - Fawlty Towers.

Fawlty Towers was hilarious, was a shame though that it only had a limited run. John Cleese was at his best as Basil.
Talking of English dramas, I thought This Life was decent series, it pulled me in. Very interesting dynamic with a house full of young law graduate adults trying to make a go of it in London.
