At 400 pages Bad Luck and Trouble on the surface seems like a long read but action is non-stop and there are twists to keep you turning each page. A plausible plot, with moments of really dark humour, those who are fans of the series will be in their element. Like his contemporaries such as Baldacci, Child takes the opportunity to use Islamic terrorists as villains. Post 9/11 the reading public seem to clamour for stories that include characters which are loosely based on real world terrorists. In reading Child's books, you get the feeling that Reacher is superman, seemingly indestructible, more so in this novel because he is assisted by 3 of the best. Perhaps Child would be better served to mix things up a bit. A great story usually will illicit a range of emotions yet with many of Chid's books we are only really sated by triumph of good over evil and the exhiliration of the chase. With every Reacher story there is a female interest, and this one is no different, I will leave you to find out whether it is Neagley or Dixon. A great read, a story which will draw you in and keep you turning page after page until you reach the end.
