Ok, I admit... I am not someone who enjoys putting on makeup, despite the fact that I am female ! Its not that I don’t like to look good, its just that I believe that besides looking good, I should let my face pores breath once in awhile. Also, I just hate to have to muck around with oodles of containers and spend hours to look just a shade lighter than my usual tone.

Mostly, Its the lugging around a whole bag of cosmetics options. I realize that as I grow older, my preference is veering towards smaller bags as I want to look less like a bag lady. What then are my options?

In comes the All-in-One Cosmetic sets. They pretty much par down your makeup bag to just one palette for eyes, lips and cheeks. They must be God’s answer for people like me !

Below are 3 compact make-up palettes which I find facinating:-

”lauramercier"

Laura Mercier – Bronzing Book - Glided
Laura Mercier is premier brand of make-up from the US. They have really nice colors and the quality of make-up is really good and lasting as well. This set has 9 compartments, the most of all the 3 product reviews here. On the other hand, it is the most pricy of the 3 but you are really paying for quality and not just quantity, as this is a really good brand of make-up. There are 2 Pressed Powders in Gilded Shimmer and Matte Bronze, 3 Illuminating Sticks in pressed form in Honey Glow, Rose Glow and Golden Glow, 2 Stick glosses in Golden Gleam and Baked Earth and 2 Eye Colours in Dew and Topaz. It is a must-have for creating a fresh yet put-together look, great for office look.

”bobbibrown"

Bobbi Brown - Summer Pink Face Palette
The thing about Bobbi Brown makeup is that they tend to focus on earthy tone colors. This is a good set to have if you like to look like a pretty flush, like you are in the pink of health. This set only has 4 compartments, the smallest of all the 3 reviews, But it does have all the essential make-ups which you would need on the go. The set consist of 2 eyes shadows in ivory and peach, 1 blusher in Pink and 2 lips color in Nougat and pastel pink. Price wise, it is mid-range.

”loreal"

L’Oreal’s Essential Colors Make-Up Palette.
This is my favorite of all the 3. It is not only value of money, being the most affordable of the 3 but for that price, you are really getting the whole works, and then some. It comprises of 5 Color Appeal Eye Shows in dark brown, light brown, reddish brown, white and blue, 4 Color Riche Lipsticks in red, maroon, pink and reddish maroon and to top off the set, 2 blushers in Reddish pink and brownish red. Besides the compact, classy metallic casing, the make-up also lasts me a whole day at work! All in All, this one gets my vote of sale as it is relatively good make-up for an affordable price.

One thing to note about these compact make up palettes though, the portion of make-ups is really small. So they are not really ideal for daily wear but more for traveling or if you are like me, who puts on makeup once in a while you need a mood lift or confidence booster.
