Changi Airport SATS Premier Lounge E-mail

Star Alliance Gold and Krisflyer Elite Gold members have access to the SATS Premier Lounge in Singapore's Changi Airport (Terminal 2). Given that Changi is where Singapore Airlines is based, one would have expected that the lounge should be a flagship lounge for the airline. Unfortunately that's not the case. At least not for poor Gold members . There's a much fancier Silver Kris lounge 50m away which is only available for business and first class travellers or the high tiers of Krisflyer membership (PPS Club, Solitaire).

The lounge is rather pedestrian and is a shared facility with several other airlines, not all of which are part of the Star Alliance network. As a result, the lounge is quite packed most of the time and it can be a struggle to find a decent seat. While the lounge is equipped with a decent free wireless network (2Mbps), it can be a challenge to find a seat that has access to power to plug your laptop into.

The range of food and drinks available is quite standard, nothing especially memorable and the lounge does not provide any shower facilities. It has two massage chairs however which are pretty good.

On the whole, while it beats sitting in the departure lounge, the SATS Premier Lounge does not light any fires for the frequent business traveller.
